Performance Artist Kevin Aviance performs On Saturday April 15th 11pm Fieldens will be holding its spring open house, Spryte V - Obey the Rhythm. "On the heels of our hugely successful Bal de Sade, we thought it would be a major accomplishment for our club to plan something big for the Spring open house, and we did!" said Mike Love President of Fieldens. "We were able to book someone huge in the dance community, Kevin Avaiance. Everyone is very excited to see him perform in Richmond. Kevin has hosted events at legendary clubs around the world such as the former Sound Factory, Twilo, The Ministry of Sound, Roxy, Centro Fly, Arena, and Womb, and performed all over Europe, Asia, and South America. I know he's gonna blow his home town away!" Kevin Aviance does not fit into one category of entertainment. He is all at once an entertaining performer, a recording artist whose songs tops the charts and vibrates through the club world, an innovator of fashion and style, a model and muse of top designers, a talented and studied dancer. Still, Kevin Aviance has been called many things: “the hardest working performer in New York clubland” (Spectrum Magazine), “an artist who commands attention” (Miamiago Magazine), “an entity” (Genre Magazine), “a crowd pleaser…energetic and glamorous” (Buzz Magazine). One thing is for sure, as reported in Time Out New York, “Kevin Aviance isn’t your ordinary, average, everyday (performance artist).” He likes to describe himself as an "Entity." Kevin Aviance was raised in Richmond, Virginia, in a close-knit family with seven siblings. From a young age, Aviance dedicated himself to the study of music and theatre. Kevin's career as a performance artist and club personality began in Washington DC, continued in Miami, and eventually landed him at the epicenter of the club and music scene: New York City. Kevin's music is a mixture of underground funk and bustling house rhythms, performed with such energy, fervor, and wittiness that everyone is out of their seats, letting loose, and dancing when he hits the stage. Aviance's debut album, "Box of Chocolates,' includes "Cunty," a club cult hit, "Din Da Da," which reached number one on the Billboard charts, and "Rhythm is my Bitch," which rose to number two on the Billboard charts. He will be performing all of his hits including “Give It Up” and his biggest hit to date, "Alive" that reached number one on Billboard's "Clubplay" charts. Saturday April 15th at Fieldens 2033 West Broad Street Doors open at 11pm Performance at 12:30am followed by all night dancing and fun. Ages 21 and older, valid photo ID required. Members $5 - Nonmembers $12 Partial door proceeds will go to Fan Free Clinic. |
